The kid is 14 & he might be really talented, I’m not a 6 year old girl, I don’t know & I don’t care to know, but there are like 2 or 3 Child Actors that made it out alive & they still struggled with Drug & Alcohol Addiction (Jason Bateman, Drew Barrymore, Fergie) ~ As far as new Writer / Directors whose work I really dig, have you seen In Bruges with Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson (Both of them are so perfect in it & they were both nominated for Best Actor at the Globes & Colin Won) & Ralph Fiennes (Quiz Show is amazing & would have killed all awards shows if it Didn’t come out in the best year in Cinematic History, 1994 had Forrest Gump nominated for something like 13 Oscars & Swept the Ceremony taking out “Pulp Fiction” + “Quiz Show” + “Shawshank Redemption” ~ Unreal~ They Don’t Make Movies Like They Used To. Fincher was badass with SE7EN & Fight Club, Wes Anderson came out swinging with “Bottle Rocket” + “Rushmore” + “The Royal Tenenbaums” ~ Sam Mendes Put Out “American Beauty” & than “Gladiator” was pretty damn solid to end that decade~ But, since 2000, it seems like the only great movies (in my semi-humble opinion) were “Walk The Line” + “Collateral” + “Slumdog Millionaire” & than besides that, it has been the Christopher Nolan show, “Memento” is the best debut film ever & it truly becomes an 11/10 on the 4th watch, same with “The Prestige” & than he killed it with changing the Batman Franchise Around & than “Inception” was truly original. “The Departed” was basically flawless, but aside from that I only like 2 new Filmmakers which are Martin McDonagh (In Bruges & than his sophomore film, “7 Psychopaths”) & than Rian Johnson whose low budget, indie debut, “Brick” was pretty dope, but than he showed what he could do with a little bit of money behind him making “The Brothers Bloom” which grew on me & I love now & than he did “Looper” which was another 180 from his second, just like “The Brothers Bloom” after “Brick” ~ It just seems like there aren’t any truly great young Filmmakers, Actors or Musicians 30 or Younger, Ledger was setup to be truly great, Ryan Gosling is actually extremely talented & his band “Dead Man’s Bones” is FN Sweet. I am going to name my Top 3 Actors of this Generation 25-35 Years Old!

Unfortunately, these 3 Actors might be the only 3 actually pushing boundaries. Compared to all the amazing LEGENDS of the last 55 years or so, Heath Ledger was the only Actor pushing all boundaries and letting everything go!

So, My Top 3 are Ryan Gosling, James Franco & Tom Hardy. Until I get my Podcast up and running which will include the best Independent & Underground Music, Film, Comic Books, Graphic Novels, Actual Novels & Comedians along with fans all calling in to talk as long as they want about whatever is on the table!

The Tampa Bay Area Is Quickly Becoming The New Austin!!

Tampa Bay Area (Tampa, St. Petersburg & Clearwater) On Pace To Become The New Austin!
I never thought that the Tampa Bay Area would be on the Map for one of the most talented areas in the country. I am so proud to be an Artist, Writer, Musician & Producer from this area. Ten years ago, the Cities that make up the East Coast Bay Area were still known as “The Death Metal Capitol!!”
In recent years, there have been extremely legit Indie Festivals popping up that cover all kinds of music.
This is my first post & I have been recording material for my Debut Album while also trying to finish another chapter on my first Screenplay which is extremely promising; but enough about me.
Bands like Underoath & The Almost (an offshoot of Underoath featuring former drummer, Aaron Gillespie as the full band. On the debut album, he played every instrument and then recruited musicians to Tour with on his Christian Mission including one of the greatest and most underrated & underused guitarists alive, Jay Vilardi) were some of the first to make some big noise in this area along with the Industrial Band, Crossbreed who signed a Major Label deal but after underwhelming numbers, were dropped & that is the story with The Almost as well. So, you would think that was that. But, in the last 4 or 5 years, there have been some amazing bands coming out of the Tampa Bay Area, especially St. Petersburg, including great bands like Polyenso, Rec Center, Merchandise, Awake The Natives, Dylar, Early Forms, The Florida Kilos & The Need Money.
The most exciting band in the area is more of a mystery than anything & that’s adds to the whole idea. Nobody knows who is in the band, how many people actually write or what anyone looks like and that is by design. Nobody has been able to get an interview & their fans have been cool enough to keep a secret agreement with the band to not record video of their shows. Every single show so far has been a secret show & only about 200 people are at gigs. I have been lucky enough to see 4 of the shows & aside from the most exciting, unique & cutting-edge music this side of Radiohead or Sigur Ros, there is also a Modest Mouse, Talking Heads, The Cure & Pixies type sound where you cannot believe what it going on, but the lyrics are so clever & so catchy that you almost feel like you heard the music in a previous lifetime. They use a different name every time, but I talked to the possible mastermind for about 10 seconds while he was in full disguise and when I asked what name to go with in my review, he said, “I would prefer you don’t write about what we are doing, but I’m sure you will, so go with: “The Struggles” ~ With all these great bands, I have to say that if “The Struggles” do finally start playing shows where people can plan on seeing them more than 15 Minutes ahead of time, they will be the band that puts Tampa Bay on the map a la Seattle in the 90’s.

4 of the most exciting Producers & 1 Man Projects are Heights NS, THE DEADB3ATZ, KNiFA & AK42. Heights NS is a Hip Hop Wizard that is probably most similar to what Pharrell Williams & N.E.R.D is doing. AK42 is another enigma, a prodigy similar to Danger Mouse with vocals that could be compared oddly enough to Broken Bells. THE DEADB3ATZ Have A NIN + Spiritualized Sound & If KNiFA could be compared to anybody, I would say M83, MGMT & Crosses. Very Amazing Sounds & Experimental Minds That Will Be Working With All The Best Artists That Want To Work Outside Of The Box, For Sure!
